Coastal locations are favoured with wide expanses of sky at all times of the year. They become more visible and impressive when there is plenty of light and this is especially so in summer. Whilst observing the hills, the magnificence of the encircling sky became even more evident. Some of the beautiful, feathery, fluid and gestural cloud movements which performed above and around, are reminiscent of pigment flowing across a prepared gesso surface.

 

 

Interesting fluid, splurges and wisps stood out against greyer skies too.

 

 

Dramatic combinations appear even more exciting.
